Objectives

The main objective of the project was  to enhance the participation of higher education institutions from less and not sufficiently represented EU countries and their partners in the Erasmus Mundus Action 1 by means of improving the quality of their applications for Erasmus Mundus Master Courses projects. Another important objective was to upgrade the qualification and professional experience of participating Erasmus Mundus National Structures by means of training given by their more experienced colleagues.

Activities and outcomes

National surveys

Each Erasmus Mundus National Structure from less or not sufficiently represented countries prepared a national survey which showed the situation in the national legislation (with the accent on the implementation of the joint study programmes) and indicated the possible resources for the future joint study programmes. The results of these surveys helped the individual countries to identify the potential consortia which could be potential Erasmus Mundus Master Courses applicants. The selected consortia were invited to participate in the training seminars in the frame of the EMAP project.

The participants received information about general Erasmus Mundus issues (programme rules, application procedure) and various aspects of joint master programmes such as promotion, student selection, cooperation between partners, course management and joint degrees, sustainability or links with labour market. Later they individually discussed their project proposals with the speakers.

Objectives

The project aimed at enhancing and facilitating the participation of higher education institutions (HEIs) from countries less represented in the Erasmus Mundus Action 1 (Joint Programmes). The project also intended to contribute to the capacity building and networking of participating Erasmus Mundus National Structures (EM NS). In order to achieve the EMAP 2 aims, the project partners set two objectives: 1/ identify and select consortia of HEIs as potential applicants for new Erasmus Mundus Joint Programmes, and organise training seminars in order to help them prepare good quality applications; 2/ organise training sessions for participating EM NS as capacity-building events focused on issues of common interest and support their networking.
